Text
Text has influenced the gaming industry in a lot of ways whether that be using a book, a comic or a manga from Japan. Games that have been based off of books would be the Sherlock Holmes games or the Alice in wonderland games and by using these books you are able to create a target audience or create ideas which will be used in the game e.g. if you hear about a Sherlock Homes game then you will think of murders or mystery or maybe even Victorian setting. Games that have been based off of comic books usually have set characters such as the Deadpool games will have the enemies that he has, the characters that he has and also the art style it has. Games that are based off of Manga will be based in Japan, there art style will be in a very different style.
Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishment (Novel)
If you think of a Sherlock Holmes game you would think of crimes or mysteries
SAO (Light Novel)
If you think of the SAO series then you think of Manga style and the game will be based off of MMOJRG. The story of SAO follows "Kirito" as he plays a VRMMORPG (Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Game) but while he is playing the game the log out button disappears and he learns that the only way to get out is to complete the game and if you die in the game you die in real life.
Deadpool (Comic)

The story of Deadpool follows Wade Wilson a mutant with the power to regenerate and a belt that allows him to teleport as he travels in the marvel universe and kills villains and meets with other heroes such as Cable and Wolverine.
Bleach: Soul Resurrección (Manga)
Games that are based off of bleach will obviously have a manga art style based off of the manga and will also follow the story of the manga. the story this game follows is the Hueco Mundo and Fake Karakura Town Arc which shows the soul reaper Ichigo as he goes to a hell like world to rescue his friend from the villain Aizen and save his world, while doing that you will have to fight evil creatures called Hollows and stronger versions called Arrancars.
Attack on Titan (Manga)
when i think of Attack on Titan games that are based off of the Attack on Titan manga they will obviously have a manga art style and have a theme similar to spider man since that's how the mechanics work. the story of Attack on Titan follows Eren and his friends who are young soldiers who using something called the 3D maneuver gear swing from building killing titans, huge humanoid creatures with regeneration that can only be killed by cutting out the back of their neck while trying to reach Eren's basement which is believed to hold a secret to killing the titans once and for all
